CPA Exam and Certification

We will pay up to 32 hours of time when sitting for the CPA exam. In addition, your annual salary will be increased by $2,000 upon satisfactory completion of all parts of the exam.

Medical Insurance

Our firm offers a Blue Cross/Blue Shield Major Medical Plan with various deductible options that is available to all full-time employees. The firm pays the premium for a single policy with a $1,000 deductible. Alternatively, we will reimburse you for private coverage up to $200 per month if you prefer other medical coverage. We also offer a medical insurance premium cafeteria plan for amounts in excess of the amount paid by the firm.

Dental Insurance

The firm provides dental coverage through a Blue Cross/Blue Shield dental policy. You will be eligible for this plan upon full-time employment.

Life Insurance

The firm is a participant in the group life insurance plan offered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. All employees may participate after six months service and after being approved by the plan agent. The firm stands the total cost of the coverage for the employee and the employee's dependents under age 21.

The insurance coverage approximates three times the amount of annual compensation. The insurance coverage for the employee's spouse and dependents is as follows:

  • Spouse..................................................................................1/4 the insured's coverage
    • to a maximum of $20,000
  • Dependent child over six months but less than 21.........$4,000
  • Dependent child under six months...................................$400

Cafeteria Plan

The firm has adopted a cafeteria plan under which you may elect to have amounts applied to the following optional benefits:

  • Insurance Premium Payment Plan
  • Health Care Reimbursement Plan
  • Dependent Care Assistance Program

You will be eligible to participate in the insurance premium payment plan and dependent care assistance program immediately. There is a six-month waiting period for participation in the health care reimbursement plan.

401(k) Plan

The firm has established a 401(k) plan under which you may elect to have up a percentage of your compensation deferred and placed into the plan. There is a six-month service requirement before you are eligible to participate in the plan. After six months of employment, you are eligible for the firm's contribution of 3% of your compensation into the plan.

Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays

Initially, you will receive two weeks paid vacation annually. Vacation days are earned at the rate of 10/12 of a day per each full month of employment. After the first year of employment, you will accrue one additional day of vacation for each year worked, up to a maximum of four weeks.

You will be allotted 40 hours of paid sick leave per year (July 1 to June 30) earned at the rate of 3.333 hours per each full month of employment. Sick leave accrued in excess of 96 hours may be used as personal leave time.

Paid days off are provided for eight standard holidays per year.

Professional Dues and Education

Our firm requires that all professional employees obtain 40 hours annually of CPE and that all professional staff pursue a CPA certificate. Accordingly, we provide you with opportunities to obtain 40 hours of CPE credit. The firm pays all expenses for obtaining CPE hours, including your salary. The firm uses a mix of courses available from the AICPA, State Societies and our firm association, PKF North American Network.

The firm requires all CPA's to belong to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the State Society of Certified Public Accountants. The firm encourages active participation, pays all dues, and will reimburse professionals for expenses incurred attending Society meetings. We do not pay for salary costs outside the normal workday.

Other

We encourage all personnel to be active in the community through social, charitable, civic and trade organizations. Except for social clubs, the firm generally reimburses dues after prior approval. Staff members are encouraged to entertain clients and client personnel at luncheons when appropriate at the firm's expense.
